Faultlineโs vision statement: Empowering new voices.
We empower emerging artists.
We develop and produce fresh scripts that lie at the intersection of pop culture and politics.
We open our doors to those who may be skeptical of theater.
We engage our audience and artists in rigorous conversation about topics that are trending, pressing, and relevant to our lives.
We strive to build and maintain a welcoming community for folks of all abilities, races and ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Faultlineโs commitment to anti-racism:
Originally a white founded organization, we recognize our behaviors, systems and practices have perpetuated the patterns of white supremacy culture. As a result:
We are committed to:
Building and maintaining a supportive and allying community for folx of all abilities, races, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
Creating a revolving artistic leadership structure that creates an equitable and supportive place for artists to gain the experience of leading a small non-profit theater company.
Providing opportunities to a younger generation.
Working daily with our staff, associate artists and board members to do our part in dismantling white supremacy and in lifting LGBTQIA and BIPOC representation in the Bay Area Theater community.
Representation matters.
FaultLine recognizes the BIPOC Demands from We See You White American Theater and The Living Document. We are actively reviewing each demand and are members of the Bay Area Accountability Workgroup. We will be releasing a statement in the near future on our intentions and actions around these demands.
Please stay tuned.
